I know my purpose

In my research for my talk about mothers and women in the scriptures, I learned a lot, especially about mothers in particular. My testimony grew so much about motherhood and the responsibility that it holds, it’s hard to express what my heart feels right now.

I learned how our earthly mothers were chosen specifically for us to rear and nurture us for the trials and opportunities that were designed for us. In my mind, I can’t help but think that our Heavenly Mother had a role in choosing our earthy mothers, too.

My relationship with my Father in Heaven is so special and sacred; the relationship I have with my heavenly parents is beyond comprehension. My Heavenly Mother is so sacred and special to me, to know what she has sacrificed and given to each and every one of us. I won't share too much because it is so sacred and dear, but I do know that my Heavenly Father lives, and my Heavenly Mother lives, and my brother, my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. They love me, they know me, they designed me and they nurtured me.

I believe they chose the valiant of their children to care for me on this earth. The amount of love they must have is beyond my comprehension; I only strive to know this love for myself one day. To implement this love to my own family, companions, those I teach and everyone! This work I’m doing right here, right now truly is His work. He has sent us out of His presence to do His will and to learn and to grow.

Obviously, this is the SLC
temple and is NOT in England,
but is is so beautiful! :)
It must have torn our heavenly parents apart as we left their presence, and to watch their children stray from the path must be an unbearable pain. It is so important to bring our brothers and sisters back to our heavenly home, our heavenly family, and our heavenly glory. Our heavenly parents’ joy will be so great for each child who returns!

Our Father will give us all that we need to accomplish this as we strive to fulfil His purpose. I know my purpose is to bring their children back to them by loving them with the love they so dearly give me, and by leading them on the path back home. I'm so dearly grateful for the knowledge I have, and for the opportunity I have to help their children come home. This is not just my duty and my responsibility, but is an opportunity; one of which I am eternally grateful for.

I’m so thankful for my Heavenly Father and Mother, and their son, my Savior, Jesus Christ. They love us, they want us to return to be with them, and the fullness of the gospel can help all of us achieve that wonderful goal.

Love,

Sister A in the UK

Breaking Goals and Dunking Souls ❤

Another amazing week in the best mission in the world! Our mission president challenged our zone, the Canterbury Zone, to find 60 new friends
(investigators) this week; seven per companionship (the normal is usually around three for most companionships and four for mission leaders), which is the mission record. Nobody has ever beat that in England London mission before; well I'm sure Elder Holland or Hinckley and Brigham young and all
those fine chaps probably have, who knows they're just amazing.

After being given the challenge, we all looked at each other in shock. Like what the heck, president. How in the world are we supposed to do that!? But my awesome companion, Sister MuraKane, and I talked about it and knew that president is an inspired man. He had faith and believed in us.

We all worked very hard. In fact, our district added a couple of additional challenges to make it even more challenging!
  • Try to beat the mission district record of 30 by one – and we got 45! Crazy stuff!!
  • A competition between the elders and the sisters; the elders challenged us to find 15 new friends this week. Sister MuraKane and I had so much faith, some days were hard and we are completely exhausted, but with the Lord’s help, we found 22 new friends this week. We broke the mission record for new friends in a companionship. Going down in the England London Mission History. Haha!
Working to meet all of these challenges was incredibly hard. I haven’t worked this hard in my entire life, and that includes all the difficult work I did at the nursing home and hospital! I've never talked so much and prayed so much as I did this week.

With the Lord’s help, our zone not only met the 60 new investigators challenge, but we found 71 – in one week! That's past the mission record. So neat to watch the Lord have faith in us and then help us accomplish that goal!

Holding a member's
stinky lizard. Yuck!
Me and one of my new friends.
These challenges, and meeting all these wonderful new people not only met some goals, but I felt so incredibly close to the Lord this week, more than usual. I felt His love and His strength. Was an amazingly wonderful week. It was full of tears, sweat, blood, pain, joy, love and faith! Man, the Lord sure is watching over the England London Mission! Blessing on blessings on blessings!

Drenched when we went to white cliffs.
Oh my stars I miss American food, the food here is really bland, like bland rubber. I don’t think they use as many preservations in their food, so it’s probably healthier for me, but yuck!

Last week Elder Phillips of the seventy came and talked to our mission and it was really good to hear from him. We had a good week filled with ups and downs and miracles. Through the hard days there are those good days that make it really worth it. It was good! Man I just love it out here!  ❤

Cheers,
