Another amazing week in the best mission in the world! Our mission
president challenged our zone, the Canterbury Zone, to find 60 new friends
(investigators) this week; seven per companionship (the normal
is usually around three for most companionships and four for mission
leaders), which is the mission record. Nobody has ever beat that in England
London mission before; well I'm sure Elder Holland or Hinckley and Brigham
young and all
those fine chaps probably have, who knows they're just amazing.
After being given the challenge, we all looked at each other in
shock. Like what the heck, president. How in the world are we supposed to do
that!? But my awesome companion, Sister MuraKane, and I talked about it
and knew that president is an inspired man. He had faith and believed in
us.
- Try to beat the mission district record of 30 by one – and we got 45! Crazy stuff!!
- A competition between the elders and the sisters; the elders challenged us to find 15 new friends this week. Sister MuraKane and I had so much faith, some days were hard and we are completely exhausted, but with the Lord’s help, we found 22 new friends this week. We broke the mission record for new friends in a companionship. Going down in the England London Mission History. Haha!
Working to meet all of these challenges was incredibly hard. I
haven’t worked this hard in my entire life, and that includes all the difficult
work I did at the nursing home and hospital! I've never talked so much and
prayed so much as I did this week.
With the Lord’s help, our zone not only met the 60 new
investigators challenge, but we found 71
– in one week! That's past the mission record. So neat to watch the Lord have faith
in us and then help us accomplish
that goal!

Me and one of my new friends. |
These challenges, and meeting all these wonderful new people not
only met some goals, but I felt so incredibly close to the Lord this week, more
than usual. I felt His love and His strength. Was an amazingly wonderful week. It
was full of tears, sweat, blood, pain, joy, love and faith! Man, the Lord sure
is watching over the England London Mission! Blessing on blessings on blessings!
Drenched when we went to white cliffs. |
Oh my stars I miss American food, the food here is really bland,
like bland rubber. I don’t think they use as many preservations in their food,
so it’s probably healthier for me, but yuck!
Last week Elder Phillips of the seventy came and talked to
our mission and it was really good to hear from him. We had a good week filled
with ups and downs and miracles. Through the hard days there are those good
days that make it really worth it. It was good! Man I just love it out here! ❤
Cheers,
Sister Abeling
